Ethiopia: Local Brand Alliance Markets Holiday Gift Basket
Ethiopian local branded companies, Awash Wine, Moyee Coffee and Mulmul Bakery launched a business alliance that has created a local brand called it ESSET on December 17, 2015.
Aiming to promote their products, as start-up they will be selling their products together as a gift basket for the coming holidays.
Except for advertisement of their local brand, members of the alliance do not have the intention of sharing ownership or profits at all, Nadia Abidela general manager of Mulmul Bakery confirmed to Fortune, while Ahadu Wibshet, general manager of Moyee mentioned that the three have jointly invested one million Birr for advertising.
The launching ceremony was held at the factory compound of Moyee around Gerji, with each business inviting 200 of their customers as guests from different sectors to introduce them to each other.
Awash the other local brand, is providing its new product, Gebeta Wine, while Mulmul that was established 18 years ago will provide its cookies in the basket. Moyee’s contribution to the basket will be roasted, ground and packed coffee.
