DE FAIRCHAIN-REVOLUTIE OPSCHALEN

In 2023,

we welcomed another seven coffee cooperatives to our FairChain family, swelling Moyee’s reach to 10,563 farmers – that is 147% of our original goal. 

As a result, our coop-based production in Kenya exploded to 335,000 kilograms of biocompost and 9,800 litres of biofertilizer, greening more than 330 hectares and slashing synthetic costs. All told, we have eleven extension officers in Kenya working on keeping this knowledge flowing. 

Meanwhile, 

our roastery hit profitability and our workforce there rose to 18, majority-youth workforce who helped us seal our first export contracts. We are also laying the blueprint for our first Nairobi flagship café-plus-barista-school run by 2x Kenyan barista champion Tess, our quality expert. 

With farmers earning tokens, selling their own compost and banking value locally, 2023 proved that FairChain economics can out-perform business-as-usual: one sip, one coop, one compost pile at a time.
