You might've already spotted some sneaky shots of our Republic gear in Kenya. But in addition to growing, roasting and packaging locally in Kenya and Ethiopia, The Republic is quickly expanding its cultural footprint across East Africa and finding new ways to connect and empower communities there, both on our farms and in the cities.
What does that mean, precisely?
Our investments in Mizan are already bearing fruit and it looks like this year’s harvest will DOUBLE in size. Our biocomposting, agroforestry and antichildlabor projects in Ethiopia and Kenya have hit overdrive. In our Nairobi roaster our machines are humming. In the meantime, a new Republic cafe is soon to open in Nairobi and several exciting new partnerships (shoutout to DARAJA) are in the works.
The Republic began as a portal to East Africa for coffee lovers in Europe. It’s transforming into a portal to Europe for East African music, art, fashion and pride.
