A COMEBACK STORY
The story of this microlot started with a huge challenge.
For years, the Piko factory stood empty. Water scarcity made production difficult and the future of the factory looked uncertain. But the farmers of Piko saw an opportunity to rebuild.
With less water available, they experimented with natural and anaerobic processing methods: techniques that not only create unique flavours, but also help them work more consciously with the resources around them.
What started as a challenge became an opportunity to create coffee that’s not only delicious, but also better for the environment.
FARMER - PIKO / BAHRAIN FARMERS
The Piko Microlot comes from a group of farmers in Nyeri County, Kenya, who are bringing new energy to their coffee community.
Together, they are showing what happens when farmers experiment, adapt and take ownership of their coffee journey. From growing the cherries to processing the beans, every step is part of creating something unique.
GROWN WITH CARE
Growing great coffee is about more than the beans. It’s about the people, the land and the ecosystem around them.
At Piko, farmers are using innovative processing methods to create exceptional flavours while adapting to the challenges of their environment. They’ve also introduced beehives on the farms, improving pollination and helping create a healthier environment where coffee trees can flourish.
A simple idea with benefits that reach far beyond the cup.
MOLASSES • MANDARIN • CHERRY
Expect a juicy and complex cup with: deep molasses sweetness, bright mandarin notes, ripe cherry flavours, and a smooth winey finish.
The natural process brings out the coffee’s fruity character, creating a vibrant cup with a unique Kenyan signature.
