LION HILLS MICROLOT 1 KG
Hear the roar of Lion Hills!
Grown high in the hills of Nandi County by third-generation farmer Edward Barngetuny, this microlot carries a family story that goes back more than a century.
Edward’s ancestors were known as lion tamers. Today, Edward is taming something just as unpredictable: coffee. With patience, experimentation, and a lot of curiosity, he produced this limited microlot using a careful honey processing method, leaving part of the cherry’s natural sugars on the bean to enhance sweetness and mouthfeel.
The result? A bright and silky cup with notes of warm honey, ripe stone fruit, caramelized sugar, apricot, gentle citrus, bright yet smooth acidity, silky body, and a clean sweet finish.

HONEY PROCESSED
This microlot is the result of a careful and intentional honey process. Cherries are depulped and dried with part of the mucilage left on the bean, enhancing natural sweetness and complexity.
The result is a refined flavor profile with a silky body and a clean, sweet finish. This method differs from the standard regional processing and gives Lion Hills its distinctive character.
FARMER - MEET EDWARD
Talking to Edward Barngetuny, the passionate farmer behind Lion Hills Coffee, one thing becomes clear: coffee runs deep in this family.
Edward is a descendant of 19th-century lion tamers: people known for courage, patience and respect for nature. Today that same spirit lives on in his coffee. Edward experiments, learns and pushes his farm further every year.
REGION - TINDERET
This coffee grows high in the scenic hills of Tindiret, Nandi County, Kenya, on Lion Hills Farm. Spread over 90 acres at 2,000 meters above sea level, the farm sits in a microclimate perfect for coffee.
The slow-maturing cherries soak up just the right amount of sunlight and rainfall, developing complex sugars and layered flavours. Here, every bean carries the story of a place, a family and generations of knowledge, with a touch of wild energy!
SOFT HONEY, MANDARIN, MOLASSES FINISH
