https://www.moyeecoffee.com/web/image/product.template/1814/image_1920?unique=fcffd4e

You know our Single Origin from Ethiopia. Meet its temporary successor.

It grows on the slopes of Kilimanjaro and Meru, at up to 2000 metres(!). Volcanic soil, glacier meltwater, warm days and ice cold nights. Up there the cherry ripens slowly, and you taste every bit of it.

  • Grown: Tanzania
  • Roasted: Amsterdam, not at origin this time
  • Roast: Medium
  • Taste: Floral, red currant, orange, honey

WHY TANZANIA, AND WHY AMSTERDAM?

Sourcing our Ethiopian Single Origin has been a challenge this season, so it is off the menu for a while. Rather than leave you without one, we went looking for something special, and found it on the slopes of Kilimanjaro.

The honest part: this one is roasted in Amsterdam, not at origin. That is not how we like to work, and it is why this is a temporary stand-in rather than a new permanent line. The Ethiopia is coming back.

GLACIER SWEET

Florals first, right out of the grinder. Then red currant, sharp and sweet at once, with a squeeze of orange behind it. It finishes on honey and stays there for a while. Bright, clean, and dangerously easy to keep pouring.

GROWN ON A VOLCANO, COOLED BY A GLACIER

Floral, bright, and impossible to put down.

MEET THE FARMERS

Two volcanoes in northern Tanzania. Kilimanjaro and Meru, staring at each other across the plain, with your coffee growing on their slopes at 2000 metres in the ash they left behind.

Up there the glaciers melt and feed the plants. The days are warm, the nights are freezing, and the cherry takes its sweet time ripening. Months longer than it would down below. That is exactly why this cup tastes the way it does.

MEET THE ROASTER

Jose has been with us since day one. Head Roaster and Quality Control, Argentinian, and the kind of person who talks about coffee the way other people talk about their kids.

He took this lot to a medium roast. Enough to build the honey sweetness and round out the body, but nowhere near far enough to flatten the florals or the red currant. On a coffee this bright, that line is easy to cross. Jose does not cross it.

BARISTA TIPS

This Single Tanzania is an omni branding. It can be used for any brewing method, whether filter coffee or espresso. This also means you get the freedom to get different flavors out of the coffee! Of course we will help you with that.

  • Best enjoyed as filter coffee (V60, Chemex, drip) due to its lighter and fresher profile.
  • Perfect for black coffee lovers
  • Use a coarser grind and lower extraction to avoid bitterness.
